You are invited to experience the rich spiritual and cultural heritage of New Mexico through the Camino del Norte Missions Tour. For the first time, the mayordomos of seven of the High Road to Taos historic mission churches are collaborating to offer open houses on the fourth Saturday of the warm-weather months, July – September plus Oct. 10, from 11 am to 4 pm. These historic capillas (small mission chapels) are a treasured part of New Mexico’s Spanish colonial tradition. Built and sustained by local communities over generations, they reflect a deep devotion to the Catholic faith and the enduring strength of New Mexican Spanish culture. During the open houses, visitors will have the opportunity to explore these sacred spaces, learn about their history, and discover the traditions that have shaped faith and community life in the region for centuries. These capillas stand as living symbols of devotion, perseverance, and cultural identity. From traditional architecture and sacred art to stories of the families who built and cared for these chapels, each capilla offers a unique glimpse into New Mexico’s spiritual heritage. Donations are encouraged and deeply appreciated. Contributions help support the ongoing upkeep, preservation, and maintenance of these historic and sacred places so they may continue to serve as places of faith, history, and community for generations to come. Everyone is welcome—locals, visitors, and pilgrims alike—to experience the beauty, history, and faith that continue to inspire these communities today. Brochures for the tour are available in the churches during open house hours. Information is at www.prayatalltimes.com/mission-churches. Open house dates are Saturdays, July 25, August 22, September 26, and October 10, 2026.
