The 2017 edited volume New Mexico and the Pimería Alta, published by University Press of Colorado, recently was awarded the Arizona Literary Award (non-fiction category) by the Arizona Author’s Association. Edited by John G. Douglass and William M. Graves, this volume addresses broader themes of Spanish colonialism to also include non-traditional Borderlands historiography, such as Native American oral histories, tribal traditions, and archaeology. A free electronic version of this title is available thanks to a generous grant from Knowledge Unlatched.
