On Sunday, August 10, 2025, the “Pueblo Independence Day Celebration” will be held at the Jemez Historic Site from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There is a $7 admission fee (ages 16 and under free). This event commemorates the anniversary of the 1680 Pueblo Revolt when the Rio Grande Pueblos joined together to rebel against Spanish colonizers. Jemez Historic Site kicks off the celebration with an early morning 13-mile run from the plaza in Jemez Pueblo to Jemez Historic Site, symbolizing the efforts made by the Pueblo runners when organizing the revolt. Guests can tour the Jemez Historic Site, watch traditional dances, shop for Native arts and crafts from vendors, and purchase from food trucks. The Jemez Historic Site is located at 18160 NM-4, Jemez Springs, New Mexico.
