On September 19 or October 17, 2025, you can register for a free tour of the historic Canoa Ranch to learn about Colonel Juan Bautista de Anza and the group of Spanish colonial settlers who made their first stop at Canoa Ranch as they began an epic 1200-mile journey from Sonora, New Spain to colonize the port of what is now San Francisco in 1775. You’ll also visit the historic buildings and corrals and enjoy the special exhibits of the people of Canoa. This historic ranch is located at Raul M. Grijalva Canoa Ranch Conservation Park, 5375 S I-19 Frontage Road, Green Valley, Arizona (accessible from I-19 Canoa Road Exit 56). This free “Anza Tour at Historic Canoa Ranch” is sponsored by Pima County Parks & Recreation.
