On Monday, April 20, 2026, the Southwest Seminars presents “Abó & Quaraí: Recent Research, Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument” by Dr. Emily Brown. Abó (Tompiro) and Quaraí (Tiwa) each contain remains of a large pueblo and a Spanish Colonial mission. Occupation sequences for both are now much better understood and detailed ceramic analyses have allowed us to identify the general construction sequences for the various room-blocks at each pueblo and also a much better understanding of the use of surrounding landscape by different groups over time in recent research. Dr. Brown is an archaeologist, co-founder of Aspen CRM Solutions, and former ranger at Pecos National Historic Park. This presentation will be held at 6:00 p.m. at the Hotel Santa Fe, located at 1501 Paseo de Peralta, Santa Fe, NM, with a $20 fee at the door.
