There are two great Dia de los Muertos events at Tubac Presidio State Historica Park coming up! On Saturday, October 27, 2018, there will be a lecture by Dr. Luis Coronado Guel titled “A Cultural History of the Day of the Dead in Mexico,” exploring the history and meaning of this cultural expression. This will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm. Tickets are $10 and reservations can be made by calling (520) 398-2252. The next day, Sunday, October 28, from 11:00 am-4:00 pm, Tubac will also celebrate its 5th annual Traditional Day of the Dead. This event will include displays of altars, food, music, face painting, and other performances and presentations. Participants are encouraged to come in costume, have their faces painted, and bring mementos of loved ones. Ticket prices: $8 – adults, $2 – youth (7-13), children under 7 are free.
